Nobility. Luxury. Power. Extravagance. Wisdom. Magic.
These words and others like them are often used to describe the color purple.
Purple can be described using strong words such as these, and it can also be described as a color commonly used in Feng Shui for the “abundance corner” of the home.
If you keep your vanity in the “abundance corner,” defined as the back left corner of the home when standing facing inward at your front door, it may be a good idea to have some purple nail colors in that space.
So in this post, you will see a few swatches of some of the best purple nail polish colors we have tested so far from the brand OPI.
Each purple nail polish shown below includes a description of it and links to purchase, if you wish, under each image.

OPI Skate to the Party
This is a cheerful, almost neon lavender.
I wore this shade to a wedding I didn’t want to go to once. Simply wearing this shade helped change my mind about it.
It’s a happy shade that helped me forget about everyone’s drama so I could just go with it. Some polishes are like that and this one is.

Gosh I love this one. Not only does it have a great name but the richness and smoothness of the pigment is chef’s kiss.
It’s a fall shade but I wear it anytime, because there’s too many rules as it is. It looks great as a pedicure too!

OPI Abstract After Dark
A twist on the shade below, Lincoln Park After Dark (LPAD), this is that shade’s cooler, sparkly sister.
It has more blue in it than LPAD and it is a more recent creation for OPI, as it’s from their Fall 2021 Downtown LA Collection.
OPI Lincoln Park After Dark
She’s an icon. She’s a classic. She reminds my mom of her childhood in Chicago.
First released by OPI in 2005, what I like most about this shade is the color depth.
In some lighting it looks like a regular black, in other lighting, you look into the pigment and see a rich, deep eggplant.
If you only had the budget for a single dark shade for your vampy fall/winter manicure idea, this is the shade I’d recommend you try first.
It’s a fall favorite for the last 20 years for a reason.
